Bits & Pretzels 24’: Case Study
Bits & Pretzels hosts over 7,000 founders, investors, and industry leaders for three days full of learning, networking & doing business during Munich Oktoberfest.
It features a highly curated speaker line-up (we saw names like Barack Obama and Arnold Schwarzenegger at the Bits main stage) and a variety of formats for discussion and networking to match your business with the most relevant audience - panel discussions, 1-1 meetings networking area, startup exhibition area, masterclass venues, side event venues.
What’s more: Bits has a highly-qualified and empowering matchmaking team who is there to support attendees with the best of premium targeted networking opportunities. Our delegation received an 1-hour private matchmaking tour with key stakeholders from the DACH region, mainly investors and corporations.
For the first time, Bulgaria was announced as a country partner to the conference - thus, giving our delegation more visibility and exposure to international audiences.
Further to that, 6 companies from our delegation had the opportunity to exhibit their solutions at the startup exhibition area during the 2 days of the conference.

The Bulgarian pavilion this year was situated in a very central position at the main conference hall, giving our delegates access to other country pavilions, governmental agency stands, accelerators, university and academia entities, and corporations.
The Bulgarian delegation amounted to almost 50 people coming from Bulgaria, Western Europe, UK, and the US. The profiles of the delegates were start- and scale-ups founders, VC investors, IT service providers, and government officials.

We had the honor to be invited by the Consul General of Bulgaria in Munich - Mr. Stefan Ionkov, to an official reception at the Bulgarian Consulate in Munich and hear more about how to achieve a successful business expansion into Germany by renowned Bulgarian professionals on the ground.

During the opening ceremony of Bits & Pretzels 2024, Teodor Antonio Georgiev took the stage to present Bulgaria’s disruptive tech ecosystem.
His presentation positioned Bulgaria alongside key players like France and Sweden (the only three countries on the main stage), showcasing the nation’s significant growth in the industry. This demonstrated the innovation potential of our country on the global stage.

For the first time, a Bulgarian startup was selected to pitch during the opening ceremony of B&P. Konstantin Bezuhanov, Co-founder and CEO of Evrotrust, delivered an outstanding pitch in front of international investors and industry leaders.
Out of just three startups chosen to open the conference, Evrotrust stood out, despite strong competition from IDNow—a company co-founded by one of Bits’ founders.

At our masterclass, titled “The innovator’s dilemma: How to revolutionise your business value using the technology of todAI”, 5 companies from our delegation presented their AI-related solutions.

Additionally, we hosted a fireside chat with LAUNCHub Ventures on the VC Perspective on AI today.
On the second day of the conference, we held our official side event “Entering the German Tech Market: Opportunities for Southeast Europe”, in partnership with Invest in Bavaria and Creandum.
The event was attended by more than 100 people, with representatives of more than 15 international VC funds. It featured access to premium networking with government officials, VC partners, and startup founders.

The last day of Bits was held at Oktoberfest - the world’s largest annual Volksfest. The conference had its own tent inside the festival and about 100+ table captains who facilitated networking discussions over beer, including two members of our delegation. Our delegates had meetings with government officials and diplomats from Western Europe and the US, as well as with C-level executives of the world’s largest corporations and serial entrepreneurs.
